なぎさ公園の河津桜 Cherry blossoms

なぎさ公園の河津桜（カワヅザクラ）が咲き始め、小鳥たちと一緒に春の訪れを伝えています。

The Kawazu-zakura cherry flowers has started blooming and bringing the new spring with birds wispering. 

春になるとツツジが咲き揃う展望の丘を下から撮りました。

You will be able to enjoy azarea flowers in this coming spring.

河津桜は、寒緋桜（カンヒザクラ）と大島桜（オオシマザクラ）との自然交配種と推定されています。

Kawazu-zakura has a roots of mixed Kanhi-zakura and Ooshima-zakura.

明るいピンクの河津桜は、おおむね１カ月ほど開花を楽しむことができます。ソメイヨシノよりだいぶ長い！

We can see the bloosom for about one month. It would be longer than the Somei-yoshino sakura cherries.

 現在、2023年11月オープンの魔法の文学館～江戸川区角野栄子児童文学館～が建設中で工事を行っています。下の歩道から遠目で河津桜がご覧いただけます。

※南側の園路は入ることができません。

Unfornunately, there is a fence for the Kadoni Eiko's new facirity but you can enjoy the fine view from another walking course.

展望の丘から旧江戸川が眺められます。

満開になった河津桜越しに眺めるのも良さそうですね（^^）

葛西臨海公園の水仙　daffodils

２月２日（木）撮影

冬の曇り空の下でも、春を告げる花「水仙」は葛西臨海公園でいきいきと咲いていました。なんと、その数５万７千球！

この水仙を見ながらパフォーマンスやフードが楽しめる水仙まつりは２月１１日(土)、　１２(日)に行われます！

まだ寒い日は続きますが、イベントに参加して暖かくなりましょう（^^）

The daffodills bloom to say that spring is coming even under the winter cold cloudy day. There are 57,000 bulbs of daffodils at the Kasai Rinkai Koen Park, Wow!!

It's on 11th and 12th of this month the event Suisen-Matsuri you can enjoy performances and stand shop foods with watching the flowers.

It's been cold days but why don't you to have fun coming to the event? (^^)

桜の苔玉　moss-balls

ボランティアさんたち（花とみどりの応援団）と一緒にわかばと花工房で桜の苔玉（こけだま）を作りました！

こちらは２月１１日(土)･１２(日)に葛西臨海公園で行われる水仙まつりで販売します。

作り方をご紹介します！

Volunteers and we made "Moss-Balls" to sell them at the Suisen-Matsuri festa in the Kasai Rinkai Koen park on Feb. 11th Sat., 12th Sun.

Let us show you how to make tha moss-balls.

はじめに粘土のような粘性があるケト土を使用します。触ると気持ちいい～!!

Make it by wetty soil named "Keto-Tsuch" in Japanese. 

また旭山という桜の樹種を使用します。

This tree is a kind of Sakura(cherry) tree named Asahiyama.

続いてポットから出して土を取り除き、根っこを水洗いをします。

Wash roots by water.

その後、ケト土を根っこの部分に丸めながらくっつけます。

Cover the roots by the Keto-Tsuchi soil like making a small ball.

丸まったケト土に苔をつけていきます。糸でとめたら完成！

Then cover the ball by moss!!

制作した桜の苔玉がとても可愛らしい印象です。桜が咲くのが楽しみですね♪

チャレンジ・ザ・ドリーム

2月1日（水）撮影

職場体験のチャレンジ・ザ・ドリームが実施されました。

小岩第三中学校の生徒さんが、えどがわ環境財団のお仕事を体験しました。 

 わかばと花工房でリサイクル用として持ち込まれた土を天日干しをし、日光消毒を行いました。それらを振るい機にかける作業を一生懸命に行っていました。

最後まで4人で協力しながら指示された作業に取り組んでいて、感心です。

これからもいろんなことにチャレンジを続けて欲しいですね♪

 The Edogawa City has a program named "Challenge the Dream" for junior high students to have a working experience.

 Some of students from Koiwa-Daisan junior high school had experiences of the Edogawa Environment Foundation jobs. 

 They worked for remaking soil for plant which Edogawa city citizens brought in as a recycle.

 The students really worked well. We just hope them to have many new challenges in their life.

土を天日干ししています。 Dry soil under the sunshine.

土ふるいをして、土の再生のための下処理を行っています。

Put things out eccept plant soil.

わかばと花工房で生産した腐葉土を袋詰めしています。

Put mulch made at the Wakabato Flower Garden in a plastic bags to keep them. 

再利用のために持ち込まれた土の一部を江戸川グランドに搬入し、野球場の外野の外側の整備に活用しています。

Some of the soil be used for keep the baceball ground condition good.
